Governor Uba Sani has officially commissioned a major infrastructure project in Kaduna State featuring a 35 kilometer road that connects three local government areas. This development stands as the longest road constructed in the region during the past two decades and links over 76 farming communities.
The extensive asphalt route spans Igabi, Kajuru and Chikun local government areas and includes a 130 meter bridge crossing the River Kaduna. By connecting Gadan Gayan through Gwaraji to Kujama Junction the project provides a critical alternative corridor that bypasses congestion within the Kaduna metropolis. This strategic diversion is expected to reduce travel time and transportation costs for commuters and commercial traders.
State leadership described the initiative as a historic achievement grounded in disciplined planning and inclusive development. The infrastructure aims to transform rural economies by bolstering agriculture which remains the primary contributor to the Gross Domestic Product of the state. By linking production areas directly to aggregation centers and urban markets the road is designed to minimize post harvest losses and strengthen agricultural value chains. Additionally the improved connectivity will facilitate faster emergency response times while ensuring better access to healthcare and educational facilities for residents in the affected communities.
