Oparinde Olatunbosun appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates Court in Ogba on Tuesday to face allegations involving illegal firearm possession. The defendant aged 39 was arraigned on two counts regarding conspiracy and unlawful weapon possession. He entered a not guilty plea to the charges.

The allegations suggest Olatunbosun conspired with accomplices currently at large to commit a felony in the early hours of December 25, 2025. This incident reportedly took place near Itamaga Roundabout in Ikorodu. Authorities claim the defendant possessed a semiautomatic pump action gun and one live cartridge without lawful authorization from the Inspector General of Police.
During the proceedings the court heard that the defendant claimed the weapon was for security purposes at Akinsanya Estate in Ikorodu where he worked as a local guard. These offenses reportedly violate Sections 330(d) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Magistrate L.A. Owolabi granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N500,000 with two responsible sureties in the same amount. The court adjourned the case until February 24 for mention and possible trial commencement.
